What I bring to the class dynamics.
I contribute quite a bit to this class in many different ways. I take a lead roll in leadership activities and class discussions. I also share many great ideas and listen respectfully when other leadership students and Mr.Vaughn are talking. I am a very enthusiastic student who loves to participate and help out when ever I can. When anyone in the class has a question and/or needs help I'm always one of the first people to help them. I bring a lot to the class and have a lot of fun every morning. I'm going to miss this class next semester. Thank-you Mr. Vaughn and my fellow class mates who have helped me grow as a leader and made every class fun.

How I contribute to the community.
My dad is in the military so I volunteer a lot with the MFRC "Military Family Recourse Center" I help out with all of the holiday parties that they put on for children that have parents in the military. I entertain the kids, do face paint and help set up an clean up.Through my childhood I have attended many of these events that have helped me forget for a bit that my dad was gone and was in danger. I find it important to give back to the MFRC and to help other kids to get their mind off their parents being gone and in danger and just to help them be happy for a few hours. After doing campus clean up I find my self being more aware of all the garbage on the ground when I go out. I also get mad at my friends when I see them litter and I pick up garbage off the ground when I see it.
How I have grown.
Throught the course I have grown in many ways. I have matured and realised how much I have to offer to other. Before I was immature and thought my life was so hard but this course helped me realise that my life is a lot better then a lot of other peoples lives. I have grown into a bigger and stronger leader because of this course. I have grown not only into a better person and leader but also a student. I have helped my school with "pass it on tag" and I'm going to help with the "positive bracelets" next semester. After the grade eight retreat I realised how hard it is teach 20+ teenagers all at once and now I try even harder to help the teacher and to listen and do as he/she says. This class has changed me and my life in many ways.
What a leader is to me.
A lot of people think a leader is someone who takes charge and organises everything. In my opinion that is not always correct as a leader you need to know when to step back and let some one else have a chance to take charge. A leader puts others needs before their own, they're someone that others look up to and they are a good role model. A leader knows of many resources and ways to help others. Most importantly leaders don't care about what others think as long as they are doing a good deed and/or helping others. Its hard to define a leader because a leader has many different qualities and can be many different things.
My goals throught the course.
Through the course I had two goals. My first goal was to have a better understanding of what a leader is. I think that I have met that goal. In the start of the course I thought a leader was just someone who helped others and put others needs before their own needs. Now I realise there is a lot more to being a leader then just that. You have to listen to others, no when to step back, some one who influences a group in a good way, some one who puts the needs of others first, is a good role model and a lot more. I leaned that there is no real definition of a leader there are many different types of leaders because there is many different ways to be a leader. My second goal was to help change someones life. In my opinion I achieved that goal. I think I have helped a lot of people. I think I helped change one families life a lot with the help of the Christmas Bureau but I also think I have helped others as well because I donated a lot of food to #sullicares and I went around to every class trying to get others to donate. With all the food we donated I think we helped a lot of people put food on their tables and helped make their Christmas a good one.
My hero.
In the beginning of the year we had to pick a hero and do a project on why they are our hero. My hero was Sophie Simmons. As I have grown as a leader since then I have not changed my hero. Sophie is my hero because at a young age she opened her own charity that till this day is benefiting, helping and changing peoples lives for the better. Being a daughter of a famous rock star dad and a famous play boy bunny mother Sophie has more then any average person her age needs. She does not take advantage of her money and of what she has. Sophie would rather help others with money she has then going on a shopping spree. Being only twenty Sophie has a good head on her shoulders. She is not like most kids her age. At a Young age she started helping charities and people in 3rd world countries and today she has her own charity. That is why Sophie Simmons is by hero and some day I hope to be as good and as strong of a leader as she is.
My most powerful experience in the course.
My most powerful experience in the course is when we helped the Christmas Bureau. The family my group got was a single mother with four kids and two nieces. The oldest daughter was sixteen and pregnant. They lived in a small two bedroom apartment. They didn't have a lot of food and the kids had barely any toys. My group and I gathered together $330.00. I use to think that was a lot of money and can go a long way after buying toys for the kids, two gift cards for food and for clothing, and house hold necessities I realised that its not a lot and we couldn't help the family as much as I would like. We didn't get them a lot but when we delivered the gifts they were over whelmed with happiness and they were extremely thankful. When I saw how happy they were it changed my life it made me open my eyes to how bad others have it and how much I can help.I remember growing thinking my family didn't have a lot and didn't make a lot of money. I always thought that I was poor and struggled to make ends meet. Seeing how little they had made me realise I was wrong about my life I am a lot better then I thought I was. I want to volunteer with the Christmas Bureau in the future to help more families. I am never going to forget how helping that family have a good Christmas made me feel.
