My most powerful experience in the course is when we helped the Christmas Bureau. The family my group got was a single mother with four kids and two nieces. The oldest daughter was sixteen and pregnant. They lived in a small two bedroom apartment. They didn't have a lot of food and the kids had barely any toys. My group and I gathered together $330.00. I use to think that was a lot of money and can go a long way after buying toys for the kids, two gift cards for food and for clothing, and house hold necessities I realised that its not a lot and we couldn't help the family as much as I would like. We didn't get them a lot but when we delivered the gifts they were over whelmed with happiness and they were extremely thankful. When I saw how happy they were it changed my life it made me open my eyes to how bad others have it and how much I can help.I remember growing thinking my family didn't have a lot and didn't make a lot of money. I always thought that I was poor and struggled to make ends meet. Seeing how little they had made me realise I was wrong about my life I am a lot better then I thought I was. I want to volunteer with the Christmas Bureau in the future to help more families. I am never going to forget how helping that family have a good Christmas made me feel.
